Alpha's Host Firefighters from Mt. Vernon & FDNY
Written by Chirs Simpson

September 9-10, 2011

In the evening hours on September 9 as crews were doing house work, a group of Mount Vernon Fire Department, New York firefighters arrived for the PennState vs Alabama game. The guys that arrived didn’t take long to get acquainted as they began to cook a delicious meal to serve about 25 that were in station that night. The firefighters stayed at the Alpha Fire Stations over the course of weekend. On Saturday the Alpha’s were greeted by members of Squad 252 and Rescue 4, FDNY, who were on the front lines on September 11, 2001. The FDNY members were the Honor Guard at the game. The firefighters of FDNY stayed until the early morning hours of Sunday. On behalf of the Alpha’s we hope you all enjoyed your time and appreciate the visit. Please see the link below that features FDNY at PennState.
