Shortly after 7:00 AM the Alpha Fire Co. was alerted to a motor vehicle accident involving a tractor trailer.  Reports indicated that there was entrapment in the vehicle.  Assistant Chief J. Martin arrived on scene and reported a tractor trailer over an embankment with heavy entrapment.  Assistant Chief R. Kurzinger then arrived and assumed command of the incident.  Truck 517 was first arriving apparatus on scene and began to further assess the situation.

At 0600 Tanker 519 was dispatched to respond to a working house fire at 307 Lower Coleville Road in Bellefonte. Within minutes 519 responded with 2 volunteers. As 519 was leaving the station, Engine 510 was requested to transfer for Bellefonte Co. 2 (Undine). 519 arrived on scene and assisted with water supply operations. The crew operated for about 2 hours while 510 remained at Station 2 and became available a short time later. 

While members were conducting weekly rig checks, cleaning apparatus, and making minor repairs crews were alerted for a kitchen on fire at 233 Harvard Rd in Patton Township at 18:50. Within minutes Engine 510, Engine 514, Tanker 520 and Truck 516 responded to the scene with 16 volunteers. While en route Chief 500 arrived on scene with smoke showing side A alpha and a burn victim in the front yard. Engine 510 arrived on scene and pulled a 200’ 1 ¾” attack line to the front door. Crews quickly found that the majority of the fire which had started on the stove had been knocked down by the home owner. Crews quickly opened up the walls and cabinets to check for extension.  The victim was taken to the hospital for burns by arriving EMS. The assignment was quickly scaled back to the 2 engines. Crews operated on scene for approximately one hour.  

While operating on the kitchen fire additional crews were alerted for 2 other calls. The first was a vehicle crash in Co. 15’s first due on Interstate 99 at 19:07 which was quickly held to a single engine from 15. The second call was for a vehicle fire in Co. 3’s first due on Route 322 in Harris Township at 19:18. Engine 513 and Tanker 519 responded on the call with 6 volunteers. Co. 3 arrived on scene with a working tractor trailer fire. Minutes later 513 and 519 arrived on scene and assisted Co. 3. Units returned to service within 45 minutes.
