At around 2215 this evening crews were alerted to a working fire by an occupant
of a nearby building.

At 12:30 hrs. a member of the company reported a working vehicle fire at the
corner of Strouse Ave. and Waddle Rd. in Patton Township. Before the engine
arrived multiple attempts were made to extinguish the fire with dry chemical
extinguishers. When E514 arrived on scene the mini-van was fully involved. The
crew from E514 pulled the trash line and extinguished the fire. E512 arrived on
the scene and went to work assisting the crew from E514 with opening up the rear
hatch. Units operated on the scene for approximately 45 mins. Chief 503
(Schreiner) had incident command. Responding units were E514, E512, R518, and
534 (Command Unit).

| Immediately after units returned to quarters Co 5 was dispatched for a large
vehicle fire on Stewart Drive in College Twp. Caller indicated that the vehicle
involved was an empty delivery truck with a fire in the cab. E513 arrived with
500 (S. Clouser) assuming command to find an engine compartment fire. The fire
had been held in check by a near by business employee until his extinguisher ran
out. Units operated for 20 minutes. |

Early this afternoon Co 5 was alerted to a building fire at University Commons
apartments. Multiple calls had been received by 911 including a call from
facility management, reporting fire showing. E514 laid into the scene but, was
able to make quick work of the fire with a can. The fire was held to some
furniture and a carpet on the balcony. The cause is under investigation. Units
operated for twenty minutes. Engines 512, 513, 514, Truck 517, Command 5 and
Fire police were on the scene.
