EMS was dispatched to a farm at 3760 W. Whitehall Rd. to standby while the farmers went into a manure pit to get a cow out. The family grandmother noticed the cow fall into the pit while she was in the garden. The pit was half full of manure at the time the cow fell in.
EMS arrived on scene and realized that this was confined space and that there were no self contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) for the farmers going into the space.

| This weekend, the engine and truck companies traveled to the Centre County Training site to conduct the final modules and evaluations for the in-house PERT program. Crews spent a majority of the day on Saturday doing static evolutions to hone and finalize engine and truck skills. The engine set up multiple stations that included pre-connected hose line deployment, hydrant and break operations, as well as LDH and master stream operations. |

This evening the Alpha Fire Co. held its annual awards banquet at the Ramada Conference Center and Hotel in State College. We would like to thank Pleasant Gap, Boalsburg, and Reliance Fire Companies for standing-by overnight to cover calls in the centre region.

The annual softball tournament between Pleasant Gap, Boalsburg, Centre Hall, and the Alpha's was a huge success. The Alpha's won a close game against Boalsburg to advance to the winner's bracket where they suffered a heartbreaking loss to Pleasant Gap. Congrats to Pleasant Gap on being champs once again this year! All those attending had a GREAT time!!
