Today the Firefighter for a Day event concluded with a dinner held at the station. Participants for this event arrived on Friday night and were issued a set of full turnout gear.
In August/September of 2007 the Alpha Fire Company will be close to replacing the current Truck 516 with its successor. As a send off for the truck that served as our flagship piece, we are tentatively arranging a "Last Cruise" event for all Active, Alumni, and Life members. It will include trips around the town in 516, and possiblly a BBQ and a Spikes game.

On Thursday July 27th, the Alpha Fire Company participated in Pleasant Gap Fire
Company’s parade (Company 8). Six members of the honor guard lead tower 516
and engine 510 along the two mile parade route. In addition to the 10 fire
company members in the parade, Alpha Fire Company Fire Police assisted with
traffic control utilizing 536 and 522.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Waite on the birth of their new son Matthew Aaron Waite. Matthew was born on July 13, 2006 at 05:17 hrs. at Mt. Nittany Medical Center in State College, PA.
Today was the last of two days that Firefighters at the Alpha Fire Company spent learning about ropes and low angle rescue techniques. The course is titled Basic Ropes and Riggings, and was offered to Alphas and surrounding departments through the Harrisburg Area Community College. The instructor was Dennis Harris.
