When units went responding they were advised that a hot water heater had blown up and occupants could now hear the gas hissing. Upon arrival Chief 504 (C. Prestia) assumed command and E513's crew did an investigation and terminated the gas supply to the structure, while E514 staged at the hydrant. The crew from T516 performed salvage operations.

Units on the scene were Command 5 (534), E513, E514, T516, and FP536. Company 5 operated at the scene for approximately 45 minutes.
