| At 23:20 hrs. the Alpha's were dispatched to Box 564 in Benner Township in the 800 Block of Rock Rd. for a motor vehicle accident with entrapment. The caller advised of one vehicle on its side into a tree with one patient trapped by the steering wheel and a second patient out of the vehicle walking around. Chief S. Clouser (500) arrived on scene first, assumed command and advised of heavy entrapment and requested the status of a life flight helocopter. |

Command advised Rescue 518 that a full extrication would be needed. Crews from Engines 512 and 514 arrived and assisted the crew from 518.
Upon further evaluation of the patient by EMS personnel it was determined that life flight would not be needed, it was also determined that the patient was not advising of any life threatening symptoms.
Extrication was lengthy and challenging due to the way the vehicle had struck the tree. Extrication of the patient took approximately 50 minutes.
Both patients were transported to the Mount Nittany Medical Center via Centre LifeLink EMS.
Units were placed available at 01:15 hrs.
