WEEKLY UPDATE:
CONTRACT 2006-C5 SCIENCE PARK ROAD WIDENING AND OLD
GATESBURG TRAFFIC SIGNAL:
SCIENCE PARK ROAD IS OPEN – EXPECT DELAYS
Work crews will be off the roadway around 5:00 PM on Friday, October 6th, and
crews will be working on Saturday, October 7th. Saturday at 9:00 a.m. work will
include paving driveways in the residential areas and working on the bike path.
Crews will not be working on Sunday.
Work will resume Monday, October 9th on Science Park and Gatesburg crews will
be placing topsoil and seeding. Excavation and paving for the bike path will
continue through the week. Driveway entrances may be temporarily blocked by
equipment for driveway repairs, please be patient, delays should be less than 5
minutes. Crews will be paving areas of the road way on Science Park throughout
the week. Final wearing course is expected to be placed on
October 19th. Commercial driveway entrances will be paved once final wearing
course is placed.
Crews will also be installing components for a future traffic signal at the
intersection of Science Park Road and Old Gatesburg Road.
The above operations will require single lane closures at multiple locations
and delays of approximately 5 to 10 minutes should be expected.
Science Park road is currently open to traffic in both directions. Motorists that do
not reside on Science Park Road or are not doing business on Science Park
Road are encouraged to use the posted detour route.
MOTORISTS ARE REMINDED TO TURN ON THEIR HEADLIGHTS IN THE
WORK ZONE.
The Township and its contractor are working diligently to construct a quality
public improvement project within budget and on schedule. Your patience is
requested since this public improvement project cannot be completed without
inconvenience and delays to traffic. The Township and its contractor are
sensitive to the needs of local business and are doing our best to get this job
completed. While the Township and its contractor are taking steps to minimize
impacts during construction, we appreciate you considering what measures you
can implement to accommodate the project for this construction season.
