| Police arrived on scene to report a mini van fully involved, 15 feet
from a power transformer. Second Assistant Chief Brown (502) arrived on
scene, assumed command, and reported that the fire was spreading into
adjacent leaf piles. Engine 512 was the first suppression unit on scene
and deployed a 1 3/4" attack line. Shortly thereafter, Engine 514
arrived and deployed an additional trash line to combat the fire from
the opposite side, and to protect the transformer. Rescue 518 arrived
on scene just before the fire was extinguished. A technician from
Allegheny Power responded and reported that no damage was done to the
power transformer. Crews operated on the scene for nearly 40 minutes. |
