| Captain 1591, from neighboring Port Matilda Fire Company, arrived on
scene before any Company 5 units and stated that there were 3 patients
with smoke inhalation at the house next door and advised that the
actual address was going to be 1743 Circleville Rd. Chief Clouser (500)
arrived on scene shortly thereafter and reported a single story ranch
style home with smoke showing and assumed command. Engine 514 arrived
on scene and the crew performed an aggressive interior attack quickly
knocking down the fire and containing it to the basement. Crews from
Truck 516, Engine 512, and Rescue 518 performed search and rescue,
overhaul, and salvage operations. The basement suffered major smoke and
heat damage, while the first floor suffered only moderate smoke damage.
Chief Clouser (500) requested the a fire investigator come to the
scene. Investigation revealed that the fire was caused by a spark
coming out of the the wood burner flue, which was not attached
properly. The box was placed available at 18:33. |
