| This afternoon around 15:00 hrs. the Alpha's were alerted to a vehicle
fire on the 1100 block of S. Allen St. in the Borough of State College.

| State College Police arrived on scene quickly and attempted to put the
fire out with a dry chemical extinguisher, however, the fire had
already progressed too far and the van was soon fully involved. Engine
512 arrived on scene, deployed the 1 3/4" trash line and quickly
knocked the fire down. Engine 514 arrived on scene and stood-by ready
to provide assistance to the crew from 512, if needed. Crews remained
on scene for approximately 45 minutes.Shortly after Captain Kuchmay
(595) arrived on scene of the vehicle fire, Centre County 911 center
advised him of an automatic alarm on the Benner Pike. The automatic
alarm was handled by Chief Brown and Company 2 (Bellefonte) was
dispatched for a truck and Company 8 (Pleasant Gap) for an engine. The
alarm was soon cancelled. |
