| At approximately 5:30 PM the Alpha Fire Co. and Bellefonte Fire Department were dispatched to the 1800 Blk. of Benner Pike for a barn fire. As units were responding the 911 center advised that they were receiving multiple calls from both the Benner Pike and Rt. 220. The barn was located on State Correctional Institute at Rockview property. |

The call was originally dispatched in the Alpha's territory, however, as more calls were received, it was determined that the location of the barn was actually within Bellefonte's territory. Units from the Alpha's were already enroute, so they continued. Assistant Chief Prestia arrived on scene and reported a well involved barn and assumed Rockview command.
Four fire companies, Bellefonte, Pleasant Gap, Milesburg, and Alpha, operated at the scene for approximately 3 hours.
Multiple fire apparatus had some troubles leaving and became stuck in the water soaked grass fields and heavy equipment was used to pull them out.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
