At 19:10 hours, Company 5 and Rescue 318 were dispatched for a report of a working building fire at 211 W. Hamilton Ave. Police on the scene confirmed fire on the second floor and informed dispatch that all occupants were evacuated. Bulk of the fire damage was contained to a single apartment unit on the second floor.

Engine 510 arrived on the scene and crews pulled a 5 inch supply line to a nearby hydrant. A 3 inch leader line was deployed and using a high-rise pack, crews made entry into the apartment and onto the second floor to suppress the fire.

Rescue 518 was second on the scene and assumed truck company operations.  Next on scene was Truck 517 which supplied ladders and ventilation.

No injuries were reported and property damage was minimized. Icy conditions made personnel take extra care while operating on scene.
