Park Avenue Accident with Entrapment |

At approximately 1415 hrs, the company was dispatched to Park Ave at the Mount Nittany Expressway Interchange for a vehicle accident with injuries and an un-responsive patient. Capt. Kuchmay signed on the air and responded. While enroute, CCECC 911 advised police were on scene confirming entrapment.

Engine 510 responded along with Engine 514 from Patton Twp. Upon arrival, Capt. Kuchmay confirmed entrapment. Eng. 510 utilized it's combination tool for the extrication initially with Rescue 318 providing additional tools and manpower for the process as well. Eng. 514 deployed a handline. The extrication was complicated, but all crews worked well together extricating the patient. Ambulances from Penn State University Ambulance Service, Centre Life Link EMS and Pleasant Gap Fire/Rescue provided patient care and transport.
