Shortly after 5PM the Alpha Fire Co. was dispatched for Rescue 518 to Bellefonte Borough on a 2nd alarm dwelling fire.  The Bellefonte Fire Department was initially dispatched to brush fire in the back yard.  Upon arrival the fire had quickly spread to the back porch of the structure and into the structure itself.

The structure was located on E. Linn St. and was home to the Victorian Manor Bed and Breakfast.  The home was originally built in 1877 and had recently undergone some extensive refurbishing.

The fire completely gutted the structure.  High winds were a contributor to the fast moving fire.  Crews from multiple companies worked to contain the fire.  Units from Pleasant Gap, Centre Hall also assisted Bellefonte on the scene.

Walker Township was on transfer assignment to Bellefonte Station 2 with Engine/Rescue 1614 and Truck 517 from the Alpha's also transferred to Station 2.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the State Police Fire Marshal.
