As units were responding they were advised that a firefighter was on scene with heavy smoke coming from the flue. Chief S. Clouser (500) arrived on scene and assumed Ghaner Dr. command.
Truck 517 and Engine 512 arrived on scene and began investigating. The truck crew laddered the roof while the engine entered the structure.
On the roof the truck company found a heavy glow from inside the chimney. The engine crew inside the structure proceeded to extinguish the fire in the fire box and remove the contents.
The truck company used a snuffer kit to extinguish the fire in the chimney. The interior crew found no extension into the house.
Crews operated on scene for just over an hour and the box was placed available at 8:19PM.
