| At 11:44 PM the Alpha Fire Company was dispatched to 436 Orlando Ave. in the Borough of State College for a dwelling fire. The initial caller reported smoke coming from the front door when it was opened. State College Police arrived on scene first and advised of a working fire with the structure being too warm to make entry. |

As units were responding they were informed by the 911 center that the police were able to make entry and they were advising of a chair on fire and that they believed they had the fire knocked down.
Engine 510 arrived on scene and layed in from the hydrant. The crew from 510 made entry to the house and completed extinguishment with a pressurized water can. Crews from 510 and Engine 514 then established ventilation and checked for extension into the attic space. No extension was found.
Command placed all other responding units available, holding the response to Engine 510 and 514.
There were no injuries to the occupants, however, some pets in the home were transported to the veterinarian by the homeowner.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Centre Region Fire Marshal and the State College Police Department.
