Engine 514 arrived on scene first with one vehicle into a tree with 2 patients heavily entrapped in the vehicle.  At this time Captain M. Dale (592) requested the helicopter to the scene.

The crew from 514 began vehicle stabilization, at this time Engine 510 was also arriving on scene.  As crews stabilized the vehicle other crew members began patient extrication.  Rescue 518 arrived and assisted with patient extrication.

To extricate the occupants crews had to remove the roof of the vehicle and the driver's side door.  Extrication of the passenger took approximately 20 minutes, while the extrication of the driver took approximately 30 minutes.

The passenger was transported by Centre LifeLink EMS to the Mount Nittany Medical Center and the driver was flown from the scene by Geising LifeFlight.

The cause of the accident is currently under investigation by the Patton Township Police Department.
