| This evening Firefighter For A Day kicked off with the 8 participants being issued their fire gear and pagers. Tonight through Saturday these individuals will paricipate in events such as a smoke maze, simulated car fires, and the use of the jaws of life. In addition to these training exercises they will respond to any alarms that Company 5 gets in the centre region. The event is a recruitment tool and intended to show those who are either interested in joining or who are just curious as to what it is like to be a member of the Alpha Fire Co. Good luck to the participants! The crews have already taken in 1 response for an auto alarm at the Olive Garden (as of 11:12 PM, June 29). |
