This afternoon the Alphas were dispatched to the 1100 block of the Benner Pike for an accident with entrapment.  Rescue 518, Engines 514 and 510, Fire Police Unit 536 and Assistant Chief Yocum(504) responded promptly and within moments of each other. Cheif Clouser (500) arrived on scene first with an unresponsive patient and confirming entrapment.  100_0174_large
Chief Clouser (500) assumed command and had Lifeflight (Medical Helicopter) put in the air. As units arrived on scene, 518 was ordered to perform a full extrication, 514 to set up a landing zone at the Starlite Drive-In and 510 to deploy a protection handline and assist 518's crew.  As 518's crew began disassembling the vehicle, EMS determined the patients condition warranted a rapid extrication.  The driver's side door was already removed at that point and the patient was transferred to the awaiting ambulance. Fire Apparatus was placed available 10 minutes later and fire police were available shortly thereafter.  100_0160_large
