At approximately 2130 hours this evening, Box 512 was struck for a dwelling
fire on Crandall Drive. Chief 500 (Clouser) went responding and was
given additional information of an attached garage on fire. Engine 510
and Truck 516 went responding shortly after. While responding, Police
arrived to find heavy fire showing and relayed that to the responding
units. |

Truck 516 and Engine 510 arrived confirming working
fire and crews went to work. The truck company made access and began
their primary search and started to open up doors and windows for
ventilation. Crews from Engine 510 pulled a 3 inch line to the front
of the structure and hooked one of their high-rise packs to begin an
attack on the first floor. Engines 513 and 514 arrived shortly after;
they established a water supply to 510 and pulled additional lines to
the second floor.
Due to a heavy fire load, Chief 500 transmitted a
second alarm to bring in more resources and manpower to assist in fire
ground operations as well as standby crews to protect the rest of the
Centre Region. Additional resources on the second alarm included
Boalsburg, Pleasant Gap, and Centre Lifelink EMS .
