Engine 514 arrived on scene first and reported nothing showing from the exterior. As the crew approached the scene they observed black soot around the tops of the garage doors. At this time a handline was deployed as other units were arriving on the scene.
Crews from Engine 510, 514, and Truck 516 gained access to the garage and found a heavy smoke condition with no visible fire. Crews were able to find the source in area around a riding lawn mower. At this time the area was cooled down with the hose line and crews began to ventilate the smoke in the garage and the house.
Damage was contained to the garage area of the structure.
The cause of the investigation is currently under investigation by the Patton Township Police.
