In the early morning hours of Thursday, May 8th the Bellefonte Fire Department was alerted to a commercial building fire on the Benner Pike.  Arriving units found a barn, used one time as an antique store, heavily involved with several exposures.  A second alarm was transmitted bringing Company 5 for the tower and tanker.  Company 5 fire police were alerted a short time later to assist with traffic control as the Benner Pike was closed.  The building collapsed about 30 minutes after arrival, but none of the exposures were damaged.  Company 5 units operated at the scene for about 2 hours before being released by command.
