On the evening of July 14, 2008 Co.5 was dispatched to 6888 W. Whitehall Rd. for a reported structure fire with fire in a wall. Co. 5 was dispatched at 1937 hrs. along with automatic aid from Co. 22 Huntington County and Co. 15 Port Matilda Fire Companies. Truck 516 and Rescue 518 arrived on scene with Engine 510 staged at a hydrant on Johnson Rd. Fire department crews quickly investigated and found a receptacle in a wall of a bedroom had malfunctioned and a significant amount of the receptacle was burnt and charred. The area around the receptacle is  wood paneling and it also shows signs of excessive heat. The homeowner was home and noticed the smoke from the wall receptacle and turned off the power by unscrewing a 20 amp fuse. A small section of the paneling above the fire area was removed to check the inside of the wall since the T.I.C. was showing the area to be above 100 degrees. The incident was placed under control at 2004 hrs.
