At 8:30 AM the Alpha Fire Company was alerted to a dwelling fire at 576 Melissa Lane in Patton Township.  Initial reports from the caller stated smoke and flames from the garage.  As units were responding they were advised of multiple calls of a working fire with fire spreading into the house.

Truck 517 and Engine 514 responded and arrived on scene first and were met with heavy fire showing from the first division windows. Engine 514 established a water supply and crews from both units deployed 2 handlines to the structure and made entry through the front door.  Once inside crews encountered heavy fire at the front door.

Engine 512 arrived and stretched a third handline into the structure while additional crews stretched one to the rear of the structure.

It took crews approximately 1 hour to obtain complete knockdown of the fire.

The residents were not home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries.

Also responding on the call were units from Pleasant Gap and Boalsburg.

Thanks to Bellefonte Engine/Rescue 114, Truck 217, and Pleasant Gap Engine 810 for standing by in our station.
