Overnight the Alpha Fire Co. was dispatched to a building fire at an apartment building on Fairmount Ave.  Units arrived on scene with smoke showing from the roof area of the structure. img_0140_edited-1

Crews made entry to the structure and made their way to the 3rd floor.  Once there they were met with a mild smoke condition.  At this time it was determined that the fire was in attic space above the kitchen area of the apartment.

Crews from Engine 510 and 514 began pulling ceiling and made a quick knock on the fire.  The crew from Truck 516 vented the roof.

The fire was contained to the attic above the kitchen.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by Centre Region Fire Marshal and the State College Police.
