At approximately 1:20 AM the Alpha Fire Co. was dispatched as automatic mutual aid with Port Matilda Fire Co. for a dwelling fire in Halfmoon Township.
Initial dispatch indicated a working fire at 120 Hemlock Dr. Fire Police 1571 arrived on scene first and advised of a well involved structure.

Engine 514 arrived and confirmed the initial reports. The crew from Engine 514 stretched a 2 1/2" handline and began a defensive attack. Truck 516 arrived and began assisting the crew from 514. Engine 1510 established a water supply to 514 from a hydrant putting 1500' of supply line in the street. Crews from 1510 and 518 began stretching additional handlines to the structure.
The fire gutted the entire house and extensive overhaul was needed. Overhaul was limited to exterior work, crews were unable to go inside the house due to the unstability of the structure.
Shortly after 8:00 AM crews from Port Matilda and the Alpha's returned for a rekindle.
