| Today the Alpha Fire Co. was kept busy with multiple calls throughout the area. The activity started with a mutual aid call to Port Matilda for a reported building fire. Units arrived on scene to find a small fire in the attic space. The fire was contained and the problem quickly mitigated. While Alpha units were assisting Port Matilda the company was dispatched for a reported building fire in their first due at the National Weather Service on Innovation Blvd. Units there found a small fire outside the building. A few hours later the Alpha's took in a mulch fire in the 400 block of East Beaver Ave, followed by a mutual aid to Huntingdon County for an agricultural fire, sending an engine, truck, and tanker. While units were in Huntingdon County, Port Matilda was dispatched for a brush fire and a tanker from the Alpha's was dispatched to assist. The day culminated around 10:50 PM with an accident with minor injuries on I-99 between the Toftrees exit and the Fox Hollow overpass. Thanks to our mutual aid companies that responded to our district to assist us during our overlapping calls. |
