At approximately 1:15 AM the Alpha Fire Co. was dispatched to 1012 Saxton Dr. in the Borough of State College for a working house fire with possible entrapment.

State College PD arrived on scene first and confirmed a working fire.  Engine 510 arrived shortly thereafter and stretched a line to the rear of the structure for the initial attack.

Safety Officer B. Kurzinger arrived and assumed Saxton Dr. command.

Engine 514 was advised to establish a water supply from the closest hydrant and then to stretch a back-up line through the front door.

Crews from Rescue 518 and Truck 517 began primary search of the structure.  Initial reports were that 5 residents were unaccounted for.  The primary search of the structure found no residents within the house.

Crews made a quick knock of the fire and overhaul began.

Units remained on scene until approximately 5:00 AM.

The cause of the fire is not yet known and is currently under investigation by the State College Police Department and the Centre Region Fire Marshal's office.

No residents were found to be in the structure at the time of the fire and no injuries to firefighter's were reported.

Thanks to Engine 111 and Truck 217 from the Bellefonte Fire Department for standing by at Station 5 during the incident.
