This afternoon as Assistant Chief Yocum (501) was returning home from work he came across a working pickup truck fire on I-99.  501 advised the 911 center of his findings and immediately assumed I-99 command.

Engine 510, 514, and Rescue 518 responded on the call.  Engine 514 arrived first and found a fully involved pickup truck.  The crew stretched a 1 3/4" handline from the front bumper for extinguishment.  Once Engine 510 arrived their crew assisted 514's crew with final extinguishment and minor overhaul.

Once most of the fire was out, 1 lane of I-99 was opened for traffic.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police.
