Around 5 AM this morning, while units were returning from a previous call, Centre County 911 requested an available unit to establish a landing zone in the area of Blue Course Dr and N Atherton St.

Engine 514 responded on the request and established a landing zone for a trauma patient.  The landing zone was set-up in a grassy field located in front of the Giant food store.

Geisinger LifeFlight 2 landed and the crew from Engine 514 assisted the flight crew with a "hot load" of the patient.

Crews operated at the scene for approximately 1/2 hour.

Units on Scene:  Engine 514, Fire Police, Centre LifeLink EMS, Chief's Car 538, Command 534, Ferguson Township Police
Command:  Fire Director S. Bair (5500)
