In addition to the earlier industrial accident, Company 5
handled two injury accidents and a reported structure fire just prior to the
start of the Iowa game. At approximately 12:30 hours CCECC dispatched for a
vehicle rollover accident with injuries at University Drive and East College
Avenue. Units 518, 510, and 536 arrived
in approximately 4 minutes and Chief 500 (Clouser) assumed command. Two
patients were transported and several others refused treatment. (Note: Later
during the game, two persons identifying themselves as victims of this crash
sought medical attention at the stadium first aid station.) At approximately 13:48
hours were dispatched for an accident at East College Avenue and Houserville
Road for an injury accident. Chief 500 established command and 518, 510, and
516 arrived shortly thereafter. Fire units popped a door for EMS access to the
patient.

At approximately 12:54 hours CCECC received reports from
passersby of a structure fire at 143 Hartswick Avenue in College Heights.
Rescue 518 and Engine 510 arrived quickly despite heavy traffic to find the
fire limited to a decorative candle holder in front of the window. E510 set up
ventilation and units cleared the scene at approximately 13:10 hours.

From 07:30 hours Saturday through 00:50 hours Sunday, Co. 5
personnel (502 unit officer: Kuchmay) staffed Penn State 2022 for stadium
responses. This crew handled seven incidents while crews from Co. 2, 3, and 5
maintained dedicated event coverage at Station 5. During the game, a station
crew handled an automatic alarm at Meridian II. Thanks to our mutual aid
