Today the Centre Region awoke to the beginning of a day of snow.  Approximately 1-3 inches fell in the State College area throughout the daylight hours.  Along with the snow came a multitude of accidents.  The Alpha Fire Co. responded to several of these accidents.  Including 3 on Interstat 99 and 1 on Buffalo Run Rd. where a vehicle went over an embankment.

The driver of the vehicle was unable to get out of his vehicle after going over the embankment into a drainage ditch.  Utilizing the winch and chains on Rescue 518 crews stabilized the vehicle and assisted the driver in getting out of his vehicle.

All in all the Alpha's responded to approximately 6-7 calls for service today.
