This afternoon the fire department was dispatched to I-99 mile marker 73 for an accident with injuries.  Assistant Chief S. Kauffman (504) arrived on scene first to find a single vehicle accident with 1 patient with neck and back pain.  The vehicle was off the road in the median.

Engine 514 and Rescue 1518 responded on the call and once they arrived on scene crews stabilized the vehicle and assisted EMS with patient packaging.  The patient was transported to the Mount Nittany Medical Center.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police.
