On Tuesday, April 6th, the Alpha's were dispatched for a reported porch fire at 10 Vario Blvd. 510 arrived on scene and layed in, followed by 516. 502 arrived and established the command shortly thereafter. The engine crew found the fire was in the ceiling, just inside the front door of the bottom apartment. 510 pulled a line and knocked down the fire. 516's crew split, pulling a second line off of 510, and laddering the building with the assistance of 517. Crews were on scene for roughly an hour and a half. Other units who responded and assisted were 512, 514, 518, 536, and 537. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the State College Fire Marshall.
