Shortly after 6:30PM the company was dispatched to the 500 block of E Hillside Ave. in Patton Township for a vehicle fire.  Haz-Mat Chief and Centre Region Fire Marshal B. Bittner, who lives in the area, arrived on scene first and advised of a working fire in the engine compartment.

Engine 510 arrived and began extinguishing the fire.  Engine 514 arrived and staged.  The crew from 510 finished with extinguishment and overhaul.  Crews were able to contain the fire to the engine compartment.

The cause is currently under investigation by the Centre Region Fire Marshal and Patton Township Police.

Units were placed available around 7:15 PM.
