This morning at 1:50 AM Tanker 519 and Tanker 520 were dispatched to 1135 Valley View Road in Benner Township for a working dwelling fire. Both tankers responded on the call with 4 volunteers. Minutes later Engine 510 was special requested to scene for man power. The tankers arrived on scene to a 2 story unoccupied dwelling with smoke still showing and assisted in water supply operations. E-510 responded on the run with 6. E-510 acting as a squad arrived on scene and split its crew. The exterior crew performed a 360 of the dwelling while 2 members went to the roof to perform vertical ventilation. The interior crew went to work opening up the ceilings and walls to check for extension where they encountered fire throughout. Once the fire was put under control the tankers were released. E-510 operated on scene for 2 hours before returning home. While at the fire Co. 5 handled an additional call in State College borough.  img_20100905_034805
