| At 6:20 this morning, the Alpha Fire Company was dispatched for a 2 vehicle collision with rollover and entrapment on Interstate 99 at mile marker 71. Within minutes Engine 512, Engine 514, Rescue 518, Fire Police 536, Fire Police 537 and Chief 500 responded on the call with 20 volunteers. Units arrived on scene to an SUV that rolled over off the roadway with one trapped and another vehicle on the road. Two other patients were in the vehicles and self extricated prior to arrival and were being treated by EMS. E-514 set up for fire suppression operations while the crews from R-518 and E-512 stabilized the vehicle. Following the stabilization efforts, it was only deemed necessary for a door pop. Once the door was removed, firefighters got the patient out and into the care of awaiting EMS. The extrication took only a few minutes and Co. 5 returned to service a short time later. |
