Stand By Crews get Working Fire in Bellefonte First Due |

| Engine 510 and Engine 414 were on stand by at Station 1, when crews overheard police responding to a fire at 344 Reynolds Ave, Bellefonte. As crews were getting ready Centre County Communications dispatched the above. Crews responded as dispatched. Police arrived on scene with smoke showing at the reported address and reported a working kitchen fire. Engine 510, arrived first, knowing they had their hydrant across from the address went right to the scene while E-414 laid out from up the street as the secondary water source and to back up E-510. The crew from E-510 advanced at 200’ 1 ¾” pre-connect and made a quick knock of the fire while additional crews opened up the cabinets and ceiling to check for extension. Other units from Companies 1, 2 and Tower 516 were en route and staged at the fire scene but the incident was scaled back within minutes of crews being on scene. Crews went available at 1711 and returned to State College. |
