| At 0920 this morning Company 5 was dispatched to 500 E Marylyn Ave for a specialized rescue. Within minutes Truck 516, Rescue 518, and Fire Police unit 536 responded on the call with 11 volunteers. While en route additional reports stated that a man had fallen and was injured at a parking garage under construction. Units arrived on scene to find a patient being treated by EMS with no access to the elevated level other than a single ground ladder. T-516 and R-518 split their crews sending half to the victim with additional equipment to help package the patient with EMS while the other half gathered ropes and rigging and began using the tower platform to access the patient. Once the patient was packaged, the crew secured the patient to the tower platform and lowered the patient to ground where additional EMS was standing by. |
