Fatal Crash
At 9:30 the Alpha Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle crash with possible entrapment at the 5300 block of Buffalo Run Road in Patton Township. Engine 510, Engine 514, and Rescue 518 responded on the call with 15 volunteers. Units arrived on scene soon after dispatched to a coal truck vs. van. E-514 started stabilization efforts when EMS was able to free the patient from the van. Crews then assisted EMS and controlled hazards. At the time the patient was in critical condition and pronounced later at the hospital. Units went available a short time later.
Roll-over with Hazmat
While units were responding to the crash on Buffalo Run Road, Centre County Communications dispatched Engine 513, Rescue 318(Boalsburg), and Hazmat 20(Penn State) to 1800 Tadpole Road in Ferguson Township for a nitrogen truck roll over. E-513 and Chief 504 responded on the run with 5 volunteers and the other units. Chief 504 arrived on location to the same as dispatched. The truck was not leaking at the time and incident was scaled back to E-513 and R-318. Units arrived on scene and stood by until the incident was placed under control and went available. |
