A major winter storm just started hitting the Centre region causing the roads to become covered in ice. At approximately 5:45 PM Company 5 was dispatched to the 600 Block of E. Branch Road for a motor vehicle crash with entrapment. Rescue 518 and Engine 510 responded on the call with 14 volunteers. R518 and E510 arrived on scene to two cars with drivers trapped in both. Crews split stabilizing both cars and starting patient care. E510 pulled the bumper hand line for fire protection. The first crew completed a driver’s side wall removal while the other crew removed the driver’s door of the other car. Crews then assisted EMS and controlled hazards.
While operating on this call, Co. 5 was dispatched for a car roll over on Interstate 99. Co. 5 handled the run with E513 and E514 responding on the run. E513 arrived on scene along with Chief 504 advising that there were no injuries and no need for the fire department. |
