Today from 10 AM until approximately 2 PM the Alpha Fire Company was assigned to a special detail as a result of a visit to the Penn State from President Barrack Obama.  During this detail 15 members, staffing Engine 510, Truck 517, and Rescue 518, were relocated to a location on campus in the area of the power plant during the time that the President was in town.  Also, during Mr. Obama's visit the Fire Police worked closely with local and state law enforcement, as well as the Secret Service, to provide traffic control on the President's motorcade route.

As a result of the relocation of the units and the importance of the assignment units were dedicated to the detail.  We extend a very special thanks to Old Lycoming fire company for bringing their Engine-Rescue to the Centre Region and standing-by in the main station during this event.
