| Sunday May 8th 2011: Company 5 was dispatched at 18:29 for a dwelling fire with reports of smoke coming from the windows and roof. State College PD arrived on scene and reported heavy smoke from the second floor of a townhouse. After the report from PD, 501 (Kuchmay) added Engine 810 from Pleasant Gap and Rescue 318 from Boalsburg. 540 (S. Clouser) arrived on scene and confirmed PDs report. Engine 510 went on the road with 5 volunteers within 2 minutes. Engine 510 arrived on scene with 5 minutes, secured its own water supply and crews stretched a line to the interior. Quint 527 arrived shortly after and threw multiple ground ladders and assisted the engine crew. Truck 517 assisted in opening up and ventilation. Crews went back into service in under 1 hour. |
