The original building that housed the Patton Township sub-station was a township maintenance garage. The sub-station started out as an experimental endeavor. After seeing the success of the station, the Patton Township supervisors offered to build the current building. The current building was completed in April of 2001. The station originally housed a single engine. The station now houses 3 units Engine 514, Truck 517, and Tanker 520.  The station also has 4 live-in members that help to provide staffing for the engine, truck or tanker. It also includes a bunk room that can accommodate up to 6 firefighters.
