At 22:05 hrs. Company 3 (Boalsburg) and Company 5 (Alpha) were
dispatched to Box 322 in the 3900 block of Route 322 for a motor
vehicle accident with entrapment.

| Boalsburg's First Assistant
Chief Dry (301) responded and was advised by the emergency
communications center that there was one tractor trailer rolled over in
the west bound lane with one person trapped.Upon arrival Chief Dry
confirmed a tractor trailor rolled over with one person "heavily
entrapped" and assumed command. Crews from Rescues 318 and 518,
Engines 310 and 514 all assisted with gaining access to the
patient. The crew from Engine 513 stretched a 1 3/4" protection
line. Unfortunately the victim was deceased.The cause of the
accident is still under investigation by the State College Police
Department. The truck appeared to be hauling construction
site trash which was spread over the roadway.Route 322 was closed for
approximately 8 hours for cleanup. Company 5 units were placed
available at approximately 24:00 hours and Company 3 units
remained on scene until approximately 03:09 hours the next
morning. |
