This weekend, Penn State hosted the Dance Marathon in Rec Hall. Dance Marathon raises money for the Four Diamonds Fund.
The Four Diamonds Fund provides monetary assistance to families that
have a child dealing with cancer. Every year, THON raises millions of
dollars through fundraising and dancers staying awake and on their feet
for 48 hours straight in order to show support for the cause. This year
Firefighter Julie Matics is participating in THON for the Penn State
EMSA. As of the time of this article, Julie has been awake and on her
feet non-stop for 28 hours. The Alphas also provided engine and tower
rides to children at the event and to show our support for Julie.
