FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH |

| At 18:33 hrs. Company 5 was dispatched to the intersection of Rt. 322 and Rt. 550 for a motor vehicle accident with entrapment.

| Patton Township police arrived on scene first and reported 2 walking
wounded and one patient possibly deceased. Engine 514 and EMS from
Centre LifeLink arrived on scene, assessed the situation and determined
that the entrapped patient, unfortunately, was deceased. The engine
crew found a pickup truck and a convertible involved in the crash.
Shortly after the arrival of the engine, Rescue 518 arrived on scene.
Crews performed hazard control, stabilized the vehicles involved, and
awaited the arrival of the coroner. Centre LifeLink transported two
patients, the driver of the pick-up truck and, miraculously, the
passenger of the convertible to the Mount Nittany Medical Center. The
cause of the accident is still under investigation by the Patton
Township Police Department. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the
family of the deceased. |
