Police arrived on scene and reported a working fire in a first floor
apartment and advised of entrapment on the second floor. Engine 510
arrived on scene confirmed working fire and went to work with an
aggressive interior attack. Truck and Rescue crews performed a primary
search of the second floor as well as the evacuation of the remainder
of the occupants in the apartment complex. The crew from Engine 514
performed a secondary search of the second floor and assisted with
ventilation. The fire was contained to the apartment of origin with
smoke and water damage to the apartments around it. Upon investigation
it was determined that the fire was caused by a cigarette. Thanks to
Engine 310 (Boalsburg) and Truck 216 (Bellefonte) for standing by at
our station during the incident.
