Fire Police Unit 536 arrived on scene first and advised of a fully involved passenger car. Chief Clouser arrived on scene shortly after and assumed Limerock Terrace Command. Engine 510 arrived on scene and stretched the 1 3/4" trash line to extinguish the fire.
The crew from Rescue 518 was assigned to check a house that was downwind of the fire to see if it needed any ventilation from the smoke.
While the crew from Engine 510 was making the hit on the fire the gas tank ruptured and fueled the fire even more, Captain Kuchmay (595) acted quickly and grabbed a dry chemical extinguisher to keep the fire in check until the handline had foam in it.
Engine 514 arrived and helped with traffic control by blocking the roadway.
